The Atmosphere Excite SX XLR Interconnect is a premium balanced XLR analogue cable from Synergistic Research's Atmosphere SX family, developed for carefully matched high-fidelity audio systems. It brings the manufacturer's proprietary conductor and shielding technologies to the connection between compatible source equipment and downstream electronics.

Manufacturer construction and technology

The Excite SX XLR design is separately configured for balanced analogue transmission. Synergistic Research describes Tricon Silver Matrix geometries and four hand-built silver AirString cable geometries, with a greater total conductor count than the RCA version. The cable also benefits from the manufacturer's extended SRX-developed conditioning process, carbon-fibre UEF treatments and optional connection of its shield to an appropriate Ground Block. Gold SX tuning modules are part of the Excite interconnect approach.

What does it connect?

A balanced analogue XLR connection is suitable only where the source component and receiving amplifier or preamplifier support the correct analogue interface. XLR plugs are also used on AES/EBU digital connections, which are not interchangeable with analogue balanced audio.
