Understanding the design

A subwoofer interconnect carries a low-level analogue signal from compatible amplifier or processor outputs to a powered subwoofer. The Y-type version uses two RCA connectors at one end and should be selected only if the particular setup requires it.

Using it in a Hi-Fi system

Integration depends on the subwoofer input configuration, crossover, level and placement in the room. A correctly chosen cable will not compensate for unsuitable bass-management settings or room acoustics.

Choosing the right length or connection

Check whether your AV receiver provides a dedicated subwoofer pre-out and whether the subwoofer needs one or two RCA plugs. Allow a little cable slack if the best subwoofer position is not yet final.
