Our first new loudspeaker design in over 30 years
Designed to perform equally well in smaller rooms as in larger spaces, the Almira preserves the clarity and scale of bigger Lowther speaker cabinets but in a much more compact footprint. Utilising the DX3 driver, the Almira is based on a quarter-wave Voigt horn with a floor-facing exit.
The DX3
Building on decades of refinement, the Lowther DX3 takes the inherent musicality, vivid presence and lifelike dynamics that Lowther drivers are renowned for, and advances them to new levels of performance. With a powerful neodymium magnet system, minimal distortion and lower power compression, the DX3 delivers the emotional involvement and captivating realism that only a full-range driver can achieve.
After extensive testing, Lowther selected the DX3 driver as the optimal match for the Almiras' horn design.

Super Tweeter
To complement the legendary full-range performance of the DX3, the Almira incorporates a super-tweeter for added high-frequency detail. This 20mm dome with a small loading cavity matches the efficiency of the Lowther driver. Handmade horns are built into sealed chambers within the cabinet, extending response beyond the DX3's natural roll-off. While staying true to the DX3's pure capabilities, this carefully integrated supertweeter augments air and space for heightened realism.
Handmade in England
The same craftsmanship and care that has set Lowther designs apart for decades goes into each new Almira loudspeaker. Every driver, magnet, and component comprising the Almira is meticulously handmade by our team of veteran artisans at the UK facility. Skilled hands cut each part to precise specifications, assembling the drivers by hand and fine-tuning each speaker to achieve optimal performance. The result is a loudspeaker like no other - a truly unique and personal creation, inspected, tested, and verified to work in absolute harmony.
The human touch inherent to the Almira's construction gives each pair a warmth and authenticity that cannot be matched by machinery. From the pioneering designs of the 1950s to the groundbreaking innovation of the Almira, our master craftspeople uphold Lowther's heritage of achieving the pinnacle of musical fidelity. We take pride in continuing this standard of excellence into a new era with the Almira.
