The HS-X9 is Titan Audio’s reference mains cable.

It is where our design philosophy is allowed to run without limitation — treating electrical behaviour, mechanical stability, and electromagnetic interaction as a single problem to be solved properly.

This cable is not about adding character.
It is about removing variables.

Multi-conductor architecture, not a single large conductor

Rather than relying on a single oversized conductor, the HS-X9 uses nine individually insulated 1.5 mm conductors, arranged in a controlled geometry.

This approach is standard practice in NASA and military-grade power distribution, where predictable behaviour, noise management, and long-term reliability are prioritised over raw conductor mass.

The reasons are practical:

  • Smaller conductors are mechanically more stable

  • Current distribution is more uniform across the conductor surface

  • Skin effect and proximity effect are better controlled at higher frequencies

  • Mechanical stress is distributed instead of concentrated

Mains cables do not only carry 50 Hz power. They also carry high-frequency noise riding on top of it. Multiple smaller conductors manage this more effectively than a single large conductor, particularly in resolving audio systems.

Each conductor is formed from high-purity OCC copper, selected for its consistent crystal structure, low grain boundaries, and long-term stability.

Controlled geometry and braided shielding

The nine conductors are arranged with fixed spacing and orientation, maintaining a predictable relationship between live, neutral, and earth paths.

This geometry is preserved along the entire length of the cable and surrounded by a braided shielding system designed to manage electromagnetic interference without compromising flexibility.

Braided shielding is used not for thickness, but for behaviour:

  • It remains effective under movement
  • It resists micro-fracturing over time
  • It damps mechanical energy instead of reflecting it

This reduces airborne interference entering the cable while limiting internally generated noise from coupling back into the conductors.

Unified outer structure

All conductors are encapsulated within a unified outer sleeve, forming a single mechanically stable structure rather than a loose bundle.

This matters because micro-movement between conductors under load creates modulation noise. By fixing the conductors’ relationship to one another, the HS-X9 prevents this from occurring in the first place.

Electrically and mechanically, the cable behaves as one.

Reference-grade connector system

The connectors used on the HS-X9 are designed with the same priorities as the cable itself.

Instead of metal housings, the connector bodies are formed from a high-density engineered composite chosen for:

  • Electrical neutrality
  • High internal damping
  • Structural design freedom

This allows the internal volume of the connector to be engineered rather than left as an uncontrolled cavity. The internal structure absorbs vibration, relieves flex stress at the termination point, and prevents mechanical energy from feeding back into the conductors.

This is most critical where mechanical and electrical transitions occur — at the connector.

Radial Compression Retention System (RCRS™)

Cable termination is one of the most common sources of long-term performance degradation.

The HS-X9 does not rely on pressure screws or clamp bars. Instead, it employs a radial compression retention system.

A precision-formed elastomeric interface, shaped with a turbine-style expansion geometry, matches the cable diameter exactly. A calibrated retaining ring expands this interface evenly into both the cable and the connector body.

This provides:

  • Uniform circumferential pressure
  • No point loading
  • No distortion of cable geometry
  • No compression of conductors

The cable is mechanically locked in place while remaining electrically and structurally unchanged.

Integrated FFT module

The central module is a functional part of the cable architecture.

It houses an expanded FFT system designed to suppress high-frequency noise directly at the cable level, before it reaches your equipment. A dedicated DC input allows the system to operate independently and consistently.

The enclosure is formed from the same vibration-damping composite used in the connectors, maintaining mechanical consistency throughout the system.

Structured cable architecture

As cable length increases, so does its ability to behave unpredictably — both electrically and mechanically.

By introducing a defined structural point at the FFT module, the HS-X9 prevents the cable from acting as a single resonant or inductive structure. This limits the build-up and propagation of high-frequency noise along the cable while maintaining full electrical continuity.

Power flows uninterrupted.
Noise does not.

The Titan reference

The HS-X9 exists to remove uncertainty from power delivery.

Every design decision has a defined electrical or mechanical purpose. Nothing is decorative. Nothing is arbitrary.

This is the cable we use to define our standards.

Everything else follows.
