From the Desk of David: Why the Allnic 7500 is a Game-Changer

I’ve seen a lot of kit come and go through our doors over the years, but every so often, a piece of engineering arrives that genuinely stops me in my tracks. Allnic’s latest release—the ASRA/RHPA 7500—is exactly that.

It’s a bit of a mouthful of a name, I’ll grant you that, but behind the nomenclature is what I believe to be Allnic’s most interesting valve product to date.

The Allnic Difference

For those who aren’t familiar, Allnic is a South Korean powerhouse in the high-end space. In my view, their build quality easily rivals the best of what’s coming out of Japan. They don’t cut corners. We’re talking about high-purity, nickel-based Permalloy output transformers and a 41-step constant impedance attenuator that feels as precise as a Swiss watch.

When you sit in front of an Allnic chassis, you aren't just looking at an amp; you’re looking at a masterclass in industrial design.

Why I’m Excited About This One

At £5,900, I appreciate this is a significant investment. However, when you look at the sheer utility of the 7500, the value becomes clear. This isn't just one "incredible" product; it’s two.

  • As a Headphone Amp: It is world-class. It features both SE and balanced inputs, and there is even a specific version that will drive RAAL Ribbon Headphones directly—no external interface required. For the "head-fi" enthusiast, this is near the pinnacle.
  • As an Integrated Amp: This is where it gets really clever. It’s a legitimate integrated amplifier capable of 20 watts per channel (Pentode) or 10 watts (Triode).

The Verdict

The beauty of the 7500 is the "bargain" hidden within the price tag. If you are looking for one of the best headphone amps on the market, you are essentially getting a superb integrated amplifier for free.

When you couple this unit with a pair of high-sensitivity speakers, the results are, quite frankly, spectacular. The transparency and "life" that Allnic manages to extract from a recording is something you really have to hear to believe.

We have several Allnic models on demo right now, and I’d love for you to hear what I’m talking about. Whether you’re after a valve integrated, a phono stage, or a DAC, come into the store or give us a shout. I'm always happy to chat through why this brand holds such a special place in our collection.
