Spendor has recently announced a new A series range which allows many more people to access their speakers.
Spendor was founded in the late 1960s by Spencer and Dorothy Hughes – the ‘Spen’ and ‘Dor’ in the name. Spencer was a BBC engineer and his first speaker the BC1 became the choice for many broadcasters and recording studios.
The idea behind the new A series speakers was to create a speaker range which proves you don’t require a big space or budget to enjoy a dynamic and open sound while also remaining neutrality.
Starting off at just over a thousand pounds the new A 1 is a compact stand-mount speaker, it is a two-way design but features technology from many of the more expensive models like the A6R and the D7 models.
At just over £1500 the next model the A2 is a very small floor stander which is also a two-way design while the A4 at just over £2,000 is still a compact two-way floor stander standing at less than a meter tall.
Some of the design features include the use of a new EP77 cone, three elegant natural veneer finishes in dark ash, dark walnut and natural oak, deep articulate bass from such compact designs and they are not only British built and designed but are calibrated and matched to broadcast standard.
Offering incredible value for money and exceptional sound in such small packages the new Spendor A series range is destined to be a huge success and at Kronos AV we are delighted to be able to offer this new range to our customers.
