The Matrix Audio SU-1 USB Isolation Switcher combines three functions in one compact device: USB source selection, electrical isolation and a regulated output power supply. It is designed for hi-fi systems that use more than one computer, digital transport or other USB audio source.
Three inputs and two outputs
Connect up to three sources using two USB Type-B inputs and one USB Type-C input. Two USB Type-A outputs allow the SU-1 to feed either of two compatible DACs or USB audio interfaces. Short presses select between inputs, while a long press switches the selected output, with front-panel LEDs showing the active route.
Isolated digital signal path
A dedicated digital isolation circuit electrically separates the connected signal paths, helping to prevent ground-related noise passing between USB equipment. Matrix Audio also provides regulated output power and optimised USB transmission for flexible equipment placement.
Practical system integration
The SU-1 supports high-speed USB 2.0 (480Mbps) connectivity. It is useful for owners who want to switch digital audio sources without repeatedly disconnecting and reconnecting cables.
