Created for serious headphone listening, the Matrix Audio NA-1 is a fully balanced Class A headphone amplifier and dedicated analogue preamplifier from the company's N Series. Its refined desktop-sized enclosure is designed to partner the Matrix Audio ND-1 DAC and NT-1 transport, or integrate with other high-end audio sources.
Fully discrete Class A design
The NA-1 uses four independent amplification units in a balanced topology, with the aim of minimising common-mode interference and delivering precise control of demanding headphones. The dedicated preamplifier circuit provides an additional route to an active speaker or power amplifier system.
Analogue volume control
A motor-driven quad-unit ALPS Type 27 potentiometer gives the NA-1 tactile analogue volume adjustment, while its dedicated 60V-rail preamplifier architecture provides ample voltage headroom.
