How does the R35 differ from a bookshelf speaker?

The R35 uses a floorstanding three-way layout with a dedicated 130mm DCC midrange unit, three 130mm MCC woofers and a 25mm DCC tweeter. Separating the frequency ranges among dedicated drivers allows a more ambitious cabinet and crossover arrangement than a simple two-way standmount speaker.
