The DX1 is much more than an exceptional DAC capable of handling PCM signals up to 768 kHz and DSD 2.8, 5.6 and 11.2, thanks to its settings, it becomes a preamplifier / DAC and a powerful headphone amplifier. The Smart DX1 manages PCM signals up to 768 kHz and DSD 2.8, 5.6 and 11.2.
The DX1 is one of the components of the Smart series, it is available in white or black finish and is simply beautiful, thanks to the methacrylate facade. A power button / standby and a rotary knob are enough to control everything! The first command, surrounded by a red ring in standby, goes blank when the DAC is operational. The rotary knob is surrounded by a white LED. This unique control acts on the selection of many digital inputs: six optical S / PDIF and three coaxial including BNC, AES XLR, two USB, A for connection with an Apple device like iPhone, iPod, iPad or other "Made for iPod ", a B (for computer connection) and even Bluetooth APTX via our plug-in X-FTB01" pure digital ", high-performance plug-in adapter.
The menu offers the possibility to use the DX1 purely as a DAC with a directly fixed output level or to activate the variable volume and then use the DX1 in Preamplifier / DAC. This rotary knob allows access to a volume control of the stereo line outputs (in RCA, but also balanced on XLR bases), as well as for the adjustment of the headphone outputs, two in number and on 3 jack connectors, 5 mm. The DX1 complies with current energy saving standards, but also offers the option of disengaging the Automatic Power Down (APD) feature which, by default, enables the DAC to be idle after about 30 minutes, without incoming modulation.
The PCM signal is processed up to 768 kHz under 32 bits, and the DX1 also accepts DSD, from 64 (2.8 MHz) to DSD256 (11.2 MHz)!
The internal architecture uses state-of-the-art components for power regulation and the famous AKM 4490 for conversion. Premium converter, this DAC integrates the concept Velvet Sound. The Velvet Sound concept consists of optimizing the sound quality from purely technical measurements combined with listening tests. The synchronization is performed by a very modern and precise circuit, in place of a quartz crystal, now obsolete.
The result is up to the demanding audiophile, serious and well-constructed bass, mid ranges ensuring the voices have presence and clarity, finally, precise and balanced highs forcing admiration.
