It uses Synergistic Research's proprietary conductor geometries and noise-control technologies, tailored to the particular analogue or digital interface.

Manufacturer design and technology

Synergistic Research developed the Excite SX phono family using Tricon Silver Matrix conductors, high-purity pure-silver AirStrings in an air dielectric, UEF Matrix Shielding and carbon-fibre treatment around the shield and connectors. The manufacturer describes long-duration high-voltage conditioning derived from the flagship SRX programme. The XLR phono format is intended for compatible balanced vinyl playback systems and may be accompanied by an appropriate separate grounding arrangement.

Key technical features

Specialist phono cable with XLR connectors for compatible systems

Silver Matrix and pure-silver AirString conductor concepts

UEF shield and carbon-fibre tuning treatments

Manufacturing treatment developed from the SRX cable family

Installation and grounding specification should be checked individually

Standard 1m option in the UK distributor list

Connections and compatibility

Balanced phono connections require the correct cartridge wiring, tonearm output and phono-stage input design. An XLR-shaped socket does not establish that a phono connection is balanced or that it is compatible with line-level or AES/EBU audio. Kronos AV can check connector gender, pin assignment and earth continuity with the turntable manufacturer.

Which cable should you choose?

Choose by the actual output and input interface, distance between components and any special termination requirements. The length and connection options currently displayed in this listing are the ones available at the stated UK prices.
