Our passion at home and at work is the pursuit of high quality music reproduction. Unlike some who work in the hi-fi retail environment, we are all enthusiasts first and foremost.

We want for our customers what we want for ourselves: the very best audio equipment that can be bought at any price point, from budget to high end. Value for money, reliability and compatibility are our criteria for stocking any product.

What we do is not just about making a sale but about providing you equipment which will give you long term satisfaction. We put long term relationships above a quick sale and we want our fellow hi-fi enthusiasts to be friends as well as customers – many already are.

Company History

Kronos was formed in 1991 originally as a Hi-Fi Distribution company by David Campbell. He had previously been the founder and a partner in a successful retailer Zeus Audio who were based in Belfast. While there he won the Hi-Fi News Dealer of the Year Award for Scotland and N. Ireland two years running and was Runner up before that. Kronos became one of Ireland’s leading Hi-Fi shops and stocked one of the largest ranges of products in the UK and Ireland. Among the brands stocked were Musical Fidelity, Audiolab, Mission, Cyrus, Audio Research, Krell, Sonus Faber, Celestion, Pink Triangle, Roksan, Townsend Rock, Helius, Audio Innovations, Audio Note, Koetsu and Kiseki to name but a few.

Kronos Distribution were the first company to import Triangle Speakers, Audiomeca Turntables and CD players and YBA products to the UK. They also imported Copenhagan Transformers (mains conditioners) and were the original importers of Project turntables to the UK. During this period Kronos won the Prestigious Turntable of the Year in the What Hi-Fi Awards with the Project 6.

David Campbell was also involved in distributing Worldwide a number of products including Arion Acoustics who manufactured a range of Valve amplifiers in N.Ireland and who went on to form a formidable reputation as one of the best valve companies in the UK. Their products were exported to over 15 countries. Unfortunately the company is no longer with us but even now their amplifiers are very sought after on the 2nd hand markets. In 1996 Zeus Audio unfortunately closed and David decided to venture back into retail forming Kronos Hi-Fi, at the request of a number of customers.

They opened a shop in Dungannon shortly afterwards and as well as Hi-Fi products they also added Home Cinema Systems. After three years they moved to larger premises in the same street and also due to demand began to sell custom installation products, multi-room systems and projection systems. However Hi-Fi products were and contimue to be a strong part of the business. Kronos Hi-Fi eventually evolved in Kronos Audio Visual as it was felt that this reflected the company’s diversification into both the audio and video marketplace. Kronos Audio Visual is now a very highly regarded company, their employees have over 40 years of experience in the Hi-Fi industry and they stock one of the largest ranges in the UK and Ireland.
